The 2001 Goodwill Games is the most prestigious sporting event on the 2001 sporting calender and Nordic Sports is proud to be associated with the event, which will be held in Brisbane from 29 August to 9 September 2001.

Over the 12 days of competition, a field of around 1300 of the world's best athletes will be invited to compete in 14 adrenalin-pumping sports.

These sports are: Athletics, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Diving, Figure Skating, Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Swimming, Surf Lifesaving, Cycling, Trampoline, Triathlon and Weightlifting.

Several of the world's best athletes, including international stars Michael Johnson, Maurice Greene, Ato Boldon and Marion Jones as well Australian heroes Grant Hackett and Ian Thorpe have confirmed they will compete at the Games - with more to join the ranks in coming months.

With such a line up of international sporting "gods" competing for Goodwill Games glory in our own backyard, the event is going to be one to remember.
